Tilia's Thanksgiving Feast - Day 1: Smokey Cajun Pinwheels

Thanksgiving is almost upon us and at Tilia we have much to be thankful for. We have awesome customers, great support and live and work in one of the most beautiful valleys in the world. Truly we are grateful to all of you for your support over the years!

So we thought we would share with you a recipe a day using our delicious spice blends that will help you create an amazing feast for your family and friends (once you taste these recipes you’ll be thankful you went to the effort to make them; we promise!). Here's the first entry in our series:

Day One – Smokey Cajun Pinwheels

These puff pastry appetizers are just the thing to serve your guests when they arrive. They go well with mulled apple cider or a glass of local wine.

Ingredients:

Half of a 17.3-ounce package Puff Pastry Sheets (1 sheet), thawed

1/2 cup finely chopped Kalamata olives

1 tablespoon Tilia’s Smokey Cajun Spice Blend

1 ½ cups grated old cheddar cheese

Directions: Heat the oven to 375°F. Combine the olive, Tilia’s Smokey Cajun Spice Blend and cheddar cheese in a bowl, mixing well. Unfold the pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Roll the pastry sheet into a 14 x 11-inch rectangle. Sprinkle with the cheese mixture. Starting at a short side, roll up like a jelly roll. Wrap the pastry roll with plastic wrap and freeze for 45 minutes or until firm. Cut the pastry roll into 1/8-inch slices. Place the slices, cut-side down, onto baking sheets. Bake for 10 minutes or until the pastries are golden brown. Remove the pastries from the baking sheets and let cool on wire racks for 10 minutes.
