Tilia Botanicals is Your Centre for Herbal Learning

Tilia is pleased to be able to offer fun & educational classes and special events in many aspects of the herbal culture. Classes include topics such as how to make herbal remedies; growing herbs; plant ID and harvest wild plants; aromatherapy, making soap and personal care items; how to cook with herbs, and wild food foraging. We have even offered summer camps for kids! Our teachers are all experts in their field and joyfully share their passion for plants and natural health with event participants.

Herb Day 2025 - A Celebration of Chamomile

Join us on Saturday May 3 for a FREE EVENT! We will be celebrating Herb Day 2025, an international day recognizing a different herb of the year. This year we are celebrating one of the most beloved and widely used herbs - Chamomile! Our day will be full of fun, food and learning and we hope you will join us from 11a.m. to 3:00p.m. for all things Chamomile.

Throughout the day we will have activities for kids, lots of chamomile based foods and drinks to sample and a range of demonstrations/mini workshops.

Activities Planned

Downstairs in our kids zone there will herb pot decorating and chamomile planting (adults can participate too!). There is also a chamomile cookie decorating station as well as a chamomile faerie colouring contest.
Upstairs we have lots of yummy refreshments and great sales on some of our special limited addition chamomile based products.
Classes will be offered throughout the day and include:
- 11 a.m. - Growing Happy & Healthy Chamomile - demonstration on how to seed, transplant and troubleshoot your chamomile.
- 12:30 p.m. - Chamomile Culinary Capers - we will show you ways to incorporate chamomile into your culinary masterpieces! Everything from cookies to cake and from chamomile honey to kombucha will be talked about (and tasted!)
- 1:30 p.m. - Gentle Chamomile is a Big Healer - we all know that chamomile is a gentle calming herbs but did you know it can blast colds, flu, fever, headaches, arthritis, infections, skin problems ... the list goes on. In this session we'll demonstrate how you can make a basic "chamomile first aid kit".

There is no cost for this special event & everyone is welcome to celebrate chamomile with us!

Intro to Aromatherapy & Gemstone Bracelet Making

Learn the basics of aromatherapy in this fun filled class. You’ll learn about the most widely used essential oils, what they are used for, how to incorporate them in your life and how to safely use them. You’ll then be making your own aromatherapy gem & lava bead bracelet with Janina of Happy Camper Malas. By the end of the class you will be leaving with your own custom essential oil blend along with your handmade aromatherapy bracelet!

DATE: Wednesday April 30/25 6:30 – 9:00 pm

COST: $89 + GST (Essential Oil Blend and Mala Bracelet Included)

INSTRUCTORS: Rachel Beck is both a medical herbalist and a clinical aromatherapist and is the creator of the essential oil and perfume blends at Tilia Botanicals. Janina Gough is the owner of Happy Camper Malas and creates beautiful gemstone bracelets, earrings, hair clips and more with the inspiration of nature and wellness in each of her creations.

Isn't it time for you to practice a little self-care and have some “me” time? This fun class is a perfect way to practice your self-pampering skills. Enjoy some tea and herbal treats while you learn to make wonderful herbal baths, teas and aromatherapy blends to relax, refresh and revive you! Be your own Valentine and pamper yourself with a fully rejuvenating experience or bring a friend and save 10%.

All supplies are included. Please bring a towel with you and wear casual clothing suitable for having a facial in.

Cancellation Policy: Our instructors put a great deal of work into preparing our classes so that you have an amazing learning experience. Because of this our classes are popular and it is not unusual for us to having waiting lists for our classes. In an effort to be fair to everyone we have created a cancellation policy that we believe recognizes our instructors’ efforts while respecting the reality that sometimes you need to cancel after you register.

If you cancel at least 7 days prior to the class you will receive a full refund less a 5% administration fee.

If you cancel between 6 days and 48 hours prior to the class you will receive a 50% refund.

If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice or if a course has already started there is no refund.
